Who is responsible
iServu Digital Connect Ltd, operator of SwiftMarket, is the data controller for the personal data described here, under Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019. Contact: support@swiftmarket.co.ke.
What we collect
Your email address or phone number (to sign you in); the name, county, area and optional phone number you add to your profile; your listings and their photos (we remove location data hidden inside photos); your chats, offers, meet-up suggestions, deal confirmations and ratings; reports you make; and basic technical data such as IP address and device type, used for security and to stop abuse.
Why we use it
To run your account and the marketplace, show your listings and public profile, deliver messages and email alerts, keep people safe (for example spotting scam messages and handling reports), and improve the service. If you use auto-fill, your photos are sent to our AI provider only to suggest the listing details.
Who can see what
Other users see your display name, county, listings, ratings, sales count and reviews. Your email and phone number are not shown to other users unless you share them yourself in a chat. We share data with service providers who help us run SwiftMarket (hosting, email delivery, AI auto-fill), only for that purpose, and with authorities where the law requires it. We do not sell your data.
How long we keep it
While your account is active, and for a limited time afterwards where needed for security, disputes or the law. Unused photos are deleted automatically within a day.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, object to its use, or ask for a copy. Email support@swiftmarket.co.ke. You can also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (odpc.go.ke).
